Sales Report of 2017 American Eagle Platinum Bullion Coins

20,000 2017 1-ounce .9995 platinum $100 American Eagle platinum bullion coins were sold by 23rd January. The number is already equal to the bureau’s 2016 allocation. Additional coins would be produced based on the demand.The first lot of the 2016 coins was put on sale in July 2016; out of which 19,000 coins were sold on the first day and the remaining 1000 were sold after several weeks. 14,000 American Eagle 1-ounce platinum bullion coins were sold in 2014. No such coins were offered in 2015. These bullion coins are sold to a network of authorised purchasers who buy the coins based on the spot value of the metal and sell it to secondary market with a premium.
