2017-01-27 Fri

A special Canada 150 privy mark resembling a Maple Leaf is included in the silver $5 bullion coin that celebrates the country’s 150th anniversary of confederation. The mintage limit of the one troy ounce 99.99% pure silver coins is 150,000. The coin features a Reverse Proof finish against a frosted background. The new Silver Maple Leaf coin features the Official Canada 150 logo, the dates ‘1867–2017’ and the special privy mark.

The four diamond shapes of the privy mark represent the unity between the original provinces that formed Confederation in 1867 and the remaining nine shapes represent the provinces that were formed later. 25 coins can be purchased in mint-sealed tubes, and 500 coins in mint-sealed monster boxes.
