Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi released a special postage stamp and coins to commemorate the centenary of Mahatma Gandhi’s homecoming. The coin set was released last January during the 13th edition of ‘Pravasi Bharatiya Divas’ in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The coins are of denominations of Rs. 100 and 10. They bear two images – one, of a young Gandhi while he practiced as a barrister in South Africa, the other, an image of Gandhi after he came to be known as ‘Mahatma’ across the globe. He returned to India in 1915 after spending 21 years in South Africa.Latest News
