Kyrgyz Republic officially announced that Modified Series IV sample dated November 30, 2016, of 200, 500 and 1000 soms will be released on 1st January 2017.

The modified 200, 500, 1000 soms will have a clear portrait made by traditional methods and the lumen featuring the word "catfish". The modified notes will be circulated along with the already existing banknotes of other denomination.
