Though the dinosaurs have been extinct million years ago they have captured the attention of the entire world. Since the discovery the first nearly complete skeleton, these creatures have become a fascination and have made several appearances in Thesis, books, fictions, movies etc. They have also been featured on stamps.

South Africa has issued a set of 10 stamps featuring 3D images of Dinosaurs. This set of self-adhesive dinosaur stamps is the first ever with a 3D effect to be issued by the South African Post Office.

Illustrated by Chantelle Basson five of these stamps depict skeletons of different types of dinosaurs. All the dinosaurs depicted on the stamps have an African connection.

These stamps of South Africa are a beautiful combination of pre-history with modern technology.
