Nawab Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi was the ninth Nawab of the Princely state of Pataudi. He was born on 5th January 1941, Bhopal.He lived his passion all through his life. He liked playing sports. He made his debut for Sussex country (F1) at the age of 16 in 1957. He lost his right eye in a car accident in Hove (England). But despite this huge loss he never gave up his passions. After his recovery he went on to became the cricket captain of India in 1962 when he was only 21. He played in 46 test matches for India scoring 2793 runs at an average of 34.91. His victories include India’s first ever test match win oversea against New Zealand in 1968. He was rewarded with Indian Cricketer of the year in 1962 and Wisden Cricketer of the year 1968.
