A 2017 .990 fine green titanium $5 coin featuring the hummingbird were issued by The Pobjoy Mint, in partnership with the British Virgin Islands government. An Uncirculated 2017 copper-nickel dollar without colour is also available.There are 320 species of Hummingbirds and they are mostly found in America. The green colour of the titanium coin tries to replicate the colours of the green-throated carib which is commonly found in the British Virgin Islands. The reverse features a hovering hummingbird, collecting nectar from a flower with many other flowers in the background. The obverse features the common Queen Elizabeth II portrait. Titanium reacts differently with every strike which makes each coin unique with a lined effect. The coin weighs 10 grams, has a mintage limit of 7,500 pieces and can be purchased for $59. The copper-nickel dollar weighs 28.28 grams, has a mintage limit of 10,000 pieces and can be purchased for $16.95.
