Qing Dynasty Silver coins Stolen from the Rubble of a Demolished Home

Qing dynasty coins were stolen from the demolished walls of a house in Jiangxi province and the owner wants the looted money back. Old silver coins fell out of the walls of a house that was being demolished on 20th December by a bulldozer and hundreds of villagers in eastern China stole them.Some coins belonged to Qing dynasty (1644-1911) while others featured the portrait of President Yuan Shikai during the Republic of China in the early 20th century. The owners were not present at the scene when the house was being demolished. The house belonged to their grandfather and wanted the coins back.
The first Chinese Silver coins were produced during the Qing Dynasty and were replaced by paper money in 1935 by the Kuomintang government.
