Relatively affordable 1818 Coronet Cent for New Collectors
2016-12-23 Fri
Large cents with three design types were issued in 1793 by the US Mint. None of them was issued in 1815 and production began again on 1816. An 1818 Coronet Cent graded as About Uncirculated 55 was offered by the Stack's Bowers Galleries Part III of The Twin Leaf Collection on 3rd November at the Baltimore Expo auctions. Many such coins were offered for less than $500.The coin featured a heavily mottled tan, olive, deep mahogany, violet and gold colouration with a glossy and sharp finish. These are coins that new collectors can look to collect as they are not only relatively affordable but also are great samples of their type.
