The “Royal” creatures

The Royal Mint is coming up with a new series of coins next year called as the “Queen’s Beasts”. Be one of the firsts to order them.The animals appearing in this series are going to be the ones whose statues stood guard when HM Queen Elizabeth II arrived at Westminster Abbey on 2nd June 1953. Each of the beasts to be featured in this series has a royal ancestry. The first of this Queen’s Beasts series features the ferocious lion. The lion is a symbol of strength and has been a used on emblems and coin designs before.
The design by Jody Clark features the lion on the reverse and the obverse has the fifth coinage portrait of Queen Elizabeth which was also designed by Jody Clark.
The coins are available in different weights and prices vary accordingly. The Silver Proof coins are available in Ten ounce, Five-ounce, One ounce and a Silver Kilo Proof coin is also available. The Gold Proof coins are in Five-ounce, One ounce, Quarter ounce and Gold Kilo Proof coin.
