Stamps of Malaysia Feature Places of Worship

Post Malaysia launched a set of special stamps showcasing the well-known places of worship of various faiths in Malaysia.Malaysia is a unique country and it is well-known for its diversity where people of different races, religions, and cultural backgrounds live harmoniously. Hence, to commemorate the spirit of Unity, Malaysia Post issued a set of five stamps in Nov 2016 which give salutations to different faiths of the nation.
It is very common to see different places of worship such as mosque, temple, church and gurdwara in the same neighbourhood or a few hundred meters from each other. In this stamp edition, Pos Malaysia is showcasing a few well-know places of worship which we can track back their places of origin as far as South India, China and Sri Lanka.
All the stamps were issued with the same denomination of 60 sen. The stamps depict beautiful images of Kapitan Keling Mosque in Penang, St Francis Xavier Church in Malacca, Sri Kandaswamy Kovil temple and Gurdwara Sahib Shapha in Kuala Lumpur, and Perak Cave Temple in Perak.
The places were selected according to their establishment in Malaysia as well as their unique characteristics.
