The Designer with the Midas Touch – Exhibition

An exhibition named "The Designer with the Midas Touch" showcasing the masterful works of Stuart Devlin AO, will be open to the public through the Royal Australian Mint.Different forms of a candelabrum, dinner settings from Devlin’s personal collection and the history of the designs will be showcased at the exhibition.
Stuart Devlin AO designed Australia’s circulating coins and was appointed as the goldsmith and jeweller to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. His works influenced the development of the 20th-century art.
Stuart designed Australia’s decimal coins and his works were popular internationally making him one of the finest designers, goldsmiths and silversmiths of his generation.
A 30-minute tour with an experienced guide will cost $10 per person.
A special collectable commemorative coin worth $12.50 each will also be released featuring the never-issued-before ‘Kangaroo and Joey’ based on Stuart Devlin’s 1966 concept for the Australian two-cent piece that depicts the iconic frill-necked lizard.
