1993 Silver Dollar Commemorative Coin Celebrates Bill of Rights Day

15th December 2016 was celebrated as the 225th “Bill of Rights Day” which was first introduced by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1941 to honour the document’s 150th anniversary. From 1962 this day has been celebrated annually.Three coins were issued in 1993, one at West Point (Uncirculated) and San Francisco (Proof); the silver dollar, at Denver (Uncirculated) and San Francisco (Proof); and the $5 gold coin at West Point (Proof only).
The Silver Dollar featured a portrait of James Madison is shown on the obverse designed by William Krawczewicz. Designed. The reverse was designed by Dean McMullen featuring the Virginia home of James and Dolley Madison.
