Meet the Legends, Mercanti and Moy at the January FUN Show

Visitors at the FUN Show, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida in January will get a chance to meet John M. Mercanti, the 12th US Mint Chief Engraver, and Edmund C. Moy, the 38th US Mint Director during specific time slots. A limited number of portraits will be signed by Mercanti and Moy which will be given for free to visitors.

These esteemed personalities would be available at booths 305 and 404 during the following times:

5th January: 10:00 am to 11:00 am

6th January 6: 10:00 am to 11:00 am

6th January 6: 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm

7th January 7: 10:00 am to 11:00 am

Up to 250 glossy 8.5” x 11” portraits will be signed during each time slot. Visitors can avail them on a first-come, first-served basis.

Mercanti has designed more than 100 coins and medals including many popular modern American coins like the reverse of the American Silver Eagle and obverse of the American Platinum Eagle, setting a record for US Mint. Even after he got retired in 2010, Mercanti created an Australian Wedge-Tailed Eagle design for the Perth Mint in 2014. He along with Michael “Miles” Standish wrote American Silver Eagles, A Guide to the U.S. Bullion Coin Program.

Moy introduced exciting new programs during his tenure which increased the interest levels among collectors. His was the one responsible for the first Reverse Proofs ever struck by the US Mint. He also introduced the 2009 Ultra High Relief $20, the Presidential Dollar program in 2007, the America the Beautiful Quarters program in 2009, 50 State Quarters program, all of which were great hits. After his retirement in 2011, Moy wrote the book American Gold and Platinum Eagles.
