Pandas and Race Car Driver on Annual Macau Show Medal

Twin Pandas born in Macau in 2016 and race car driver Ayrton Senna are celebrated on the annual Macau Numismatic Society medal that was released for the society’s annual expo from 30th November to 4th December.

The obverse features Dabao and Xiaobao, the twin baby pandas and their mother Xin Xin at the Macau Giant Panda Pavilion, along with the inscription that commemorates the Howard Bowker Collection.

The reverse features the No. 3 car of the late Brazilian race car driver Ayrton Senna, the winner of the first Macau Formula Three Grand Prix in 1990. A Year of the Monkey emblem is added to the hood of the car for the year 2016 Year of the Monkey. The Guia Fortress and its lighthouse also appear on this side.

The main version is a 2-ounce silver medal which has a mintage limit of 1,000 pieces. Other versions are in silver, gold and brass.
