Production of 2016 American Eagle, American Buffalo Bullion Coins Ends

On 30th November, the US Mint announced that it has terminated the production of 2016 American Eagle silver bullion coins and American Buffalo gold bullion coins at the West Point Mint. The Mints will now be utilised for producing the 2017 coins.Orders for the 2017 American Eagle gold and silver bullion coins and American Buffalo gold bullion coins will be accepted from 9th January. Orders for the 2017 American Eagle 1-ounce platinum bullion coins will be accepted in late January.
The undisclosed number of remaining 2016 coins will be sold until they go out of stock. The Mintage limits for the Platinum coins have not been revealed either.
The bullion coins are sold through authorised purchasers who buy the coins based on the spot price of the metal on the day of purchase along with an additional premium per coin.
