A new 2017 10-cent coin was designed by Amy Choi following the theme Our Character for The Royal Canadian Mint. The coin’s reverse features a maple leaf in the air that also makes up for the wings and tail of a dove.RCM officials revealed that the artist demonstrated what Canada achieved in its first 150 years through a work entitled Wings of Peace. The artist quoted that Canada is known all over the world for promoting peace, cooperation and diversity. This idea was portrayed through the coin design.
Other inscriptions on the reverse include CANADA, 1867-2017, 10 CENTS, and AC for Choi’s initials.
