The reverse of the latest 5-cent coin belonging to the theme Our Passions will feature a beaver in the water which is digitally created by graphic designer Gerald Gloade.

The RCM officials revealed that the design is inspired from the northeastern woodland Algonkian heritage and the wildlife theme of Canada’s 1967 commemorative centennial coins.

Other inscriptions in the reverse include CANADA, 1867-2017, 5 CENTS, and GG for Gloade’s initials.
