A new series of definitive stamps along with a 1-franc commemorative stamp with an aerophilatelic theme was issued on 8th September by Switzerland.

The "50th Aerophilately Days" was observed from 7th to 18 October at the Swiss Transport Museum in Lucerne. Planes from different time spans and airmail covers were revealed. Switzerland’s 1923-25 airmail set, the 1933-37 issue of the same designs etc. with grilled gum were used on the covers. A hot air balloon, zeppelin, helicopter, airplanes, and airmail covers and markings were also showcased.

Stations at Brig (85c), Lucerne (1fr), Bellinzona (1.50fr) and Geneva (2fr) are shown on the first four stamps in the new Swiss Railway Stations series. A 5.30fr stamp depicting the Basel Railway Station will be released on 17th November. Ten more stamps featuring small and medium-sized stations will be released within two years. The series celebrates the densest railway network in the world.

Two souvenir sheets and a semipostal stamp were also issued featuring laser-cut technology and Roman bridge in Verzasca Valley. The semipostal raises money for victims of compulsory social measures and forced fostering prior to 1981.
