On 24th October, Finland issued a new coin depicting the country’s fourth president, Kyosti Kallio (1873–1940), who served as the president from 1937 until his sudden death in 1940. The coin is a part of a series which celebrates 100 years of independence next year.

The coin features a portrait of President Kallio, along with the texts “KYOSTI KALLIO 1873 – 1940”. The reverse features Finnish fields inside an open book depicting a constructed urban environment.
