100 Years of Lions Club To be Celebrated With a Ceremonial Coin Strike

On 9th November, a special ceremony would be organised to strike the 2017-P Lions Clubs International Century of Service silver dollar in Proof finish at the Philadelphia Mint.A special Law was introduced to release up to 400,000 Proof and Uncirculated silver dollars which will be introduced in January.
Special guests from the Mint and the Lions Club would grace the event. The Approved designs were unveiled at the Club’s 99th annual convention in Fukuoka, Japan.
The obverse features a portrait of Lions Club International founder Melvin Jones along with the Lions Clubs International logo. The reverse depicts a male and female lion with a lion cub with a globe in the background.
