What’s in Store are the Bowers Galleries November 2016 Baltimore Auction?
2016-10-27 Thu
The Whitman Expo in Baltimore will be held from 3rd November to 6th November where Stack’s Bowers will be organizing three auctions offering United States coinage and the United States paper money as well as another auction held along with the annual convention of the Colonial Coin Collectors Club. One of the highlights of the auction is going to be an 1874-CC Liberty Seated dime graded AU-53. Rarities Night offers just 196 rarest American coins, some of this have almost never appeared in the market.Only 10,817 dimes were minted for circulation in 1874 at the Carson City Mint which is a very small number comparatively. Low-grade examples are seen more often and a Very Good or Fine example is also considered to be rare. Experts state that only 35 to 50 coins of higher grades such as this AU-53 exist today.
Another star coin which is being auctioned is a 1916 Standing Liberty quarter, graded MS-67 FH. Most of these coins are in lower grades which makes this particular coin extremely rare. Several other rare and highly graded coins will be offered at the auction.
