On 18th October, Ally Financial kept 100 "Lucky Pennies" in various areas of 10 different cities. The one who finds this lucky coin will get $1,000 for every coin. Apart from coin lovers, the general public would also be trying their best to participate in the hunt.

Through this novel campaign, the firm is trying to create awareness amongst everyone to take a close at the change they carry with them which everyone would otherwise not pay attention to.

These pennies are privately minted copper Ally tokens and are placed in Los Angeles; San Diego; Denver; Austin; Chicago; Detroit; Charlotte; Washington, D.C.; New York City; and Miami.

The tokens might motivate people to appreciate the transformation that the Lincoln cent underwent ever since it was introduced in 1909.
