As the name suggests; Ration Stamp is issued by Government to allow the holder to obtain food or other commodities that are in short supply during emergency situations.

Since 1953, central People's Republic of China promulgated the rationing of goods and food product. With any purchase basic food product or any industrial product, the buyer must pay the ticket.

This ticket was known as Ration Stamp. With sustainable production of food and industrial products these stamps were withdrawn. However, these stamps have caught collector’s attention and have become a unique collection item.

One such example is a Two Yuan stamp. Issued in the year of 1962, this stamp was used to buy industrial products. The stamp depicts a big “2” in the centre with the year of issue i.e. 1962 below it and on the right side a factory is depicted.

These stamps are the best source to study the history and economy of the contemporary period.
