Fine and Rare 1926-D Standing Liberty Quarter Dollar Sold For $88,125

An MS-66 full head 1926-D Standing Liberty quarter was sold for $88,125 at the Heritage Auction in Dallas this October. It is one of the finest known examples of this type. The Auction made $8.5 million in total. A 1794 Flowing Hair silver dollar graded Very Fine 25 was sold for $146,875.Most The 1926-D issues are poorly struck, making this one extremely rare. A similar coin was sold for $64,625 at Heritage’s June 2014 auction.
90 to 100 percent of the detail must be present on the Coin for it to be termed as Full Head. In this case, the 3 leaves must be present completely, the hairline must be clear till the face, hair detail is distinct, and the lower hair curl and the ear hole must be visible.
