Shrinking England’s New £5 Polymer Banknotes

Many experiments have concluded the fact that the Bank of England’s new £5 polymer note can shrink when they are exposed to temperatures over 248 degrees Fahrenheit. A story in a popular newspaper stated that even though the new polymer notes are cleaner, safer and stronger, they shrink and melt at extremely high temperatures.This led to a lot of noise on social media when many people started putting their £5 notes into stoves and shared interesting pictures and videos showcasing the end result of their experiments. After all this frenzy, the Bank of England stated that the notes are durable but not indestructible.
