One Guinea of King George II

This one Guinea is a gold coin issued in the year 1927. The fascinating part of this coin is that, one can see changing appearance in the bust of the King, from younger to older.King George II was born in Hanover, Germany on 10 November 1683. He was the elector of Hanover and the second Hanoverian king of Great Britain and Ireland, Coroneted in October 11, 1727 at Westminster Abbey. His reign saw the expansion of British dominions from Europe to North America and India with the victories of Robert Clive in battle of Plassey (palashi), Arcot and the seven years War.
The obverse side this Gold coin depicts the laureate bust of King George II facing left with divided legend which reads “GEORGIVS.II.DEI.GRATIA” in Latin which means “George II by the grace of the god” within the toothed rim. The reverse features the crowned shield with the royal arms of England, Scotland with France, Ireland and the Electorate of Brunswick and Luneburg and continuous legend inscribed around it reads “M.B.F.ET.H.REX.F.D.B.ET.L.D.S.R.I. A .T.ET.E” in Latin which means “King of Great Britain, France and Ireland, Duke of Brunswick and Luneburg, Archi-Thesaurius and Elector of the Holy Roman Empire”. The date is divided due to the crown within the toothed rim.
Though he ruled for more than 30 years, the death of King George II was unexpected caused due to aneurysm on 25 October 1760. He was succeeded by his Grandson King George III.
