Coin Celebrates 25th Anniversary of Croatian Independence

Special commemorative 25 kuna coins were released by the Croatian National Bank to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Croatia which became independent on 8th October 1991. Croatian Monetary Institute designed three different coins based on the works of sculptor Damir Matausic in July 2016. A public voting was organised to select the best design in which more than 10,000 people participated. The winning design received 50% of the vote and the other two got 28% and 22% of the vote.50,000 coins will be officially circulated on 7th October. This coin would be the 11th series of the commemorative 25 kuna coin that independent Croatia has produced.
