Malaysia Issues Banknotes with new Governor's Signature

From 29th September, Ringgit banknotes from Malaysia featuring the signature of the new Governor Datuk Muhammad Ibrahim will go into circulation in stages, the first batch being RM50 banknotes.Officials stated that the new banknotes are similar in design when compared with the present ones currently in circulation. Older banknotes featuring the signatures of former governors are still legal tender and will be circulated along with the newer ones.
Muhammad is the eighth governor of Bank Negara who was appointed for a five-year term from 1st May onwards.
