A special 50p piece featuring Kew Gardens can now fetch you almost £50 and some £5 polymer note has a market value of £200.The 250th anniversary of the Royal Botanical Gardens was celebrated with the issue of 210,000 special commemorative 50p coins in 2011. The mintage limit is very less as compared to the 22.7 million Royal Arms coins that were released in 2008 and the 7.5million coins with a Girl guiding design in 2010. Experts state that these coins are so rare that only 1 in 300 people possess these coins and they would soon be in the hands of private collectors.
England’s first ever polymer £5 banknote was issued on 13th September and they are now being sold for more than £200 depending on the serial numbers. Notes that were printed using the first press with serial numbers beginning AA01 or the end of a press and sequential serial numbers in a set of notes are highly valued in the market.
