Did you know that many countries have different scientists and inventors depicted on their banknotes? These notes, which are legal tenders in those respective countries, depict the famous scientists and inventors along with their inventions or theories.Israeli 5 lira banknote from 1968 featured a portrait of Albert Einstein. Albert Einstein was German born theoretical physicist famous for his “General Theory of Relativity”.
Serbian 100 Dinar banknote features NiKola Tesla on the obverse and features a picture of electro-magnetic induction engine. Nikola Tesla was a Serbian American inventor, electrical engineer, mechanical engineer, physicist, and futurist known for his contributions to the design of the modern alternating current electricity supply system.
Turkey went for mathematics instead of physics. And their banknotes have a portrait of Cahit Arf – Turkish mathematician. Turkey also has issued a coin celebrating the great mathematician famous for Arf invariants, Hasse-Arf theorem in ramification theory and other mathematical achievements.
