Sale of 2016 Standing Liberty Quarter Centennial Gold Coin Begins

The 100th anniversary of the Winged Liberty dime is being celebrated in a special way indeed and the sale of the 2016 Standing Liberty Quarter Centennial Gold Coin has already begun. Priced at $485, these beauties have a mintage limit of 100,000 pieces and an order limit of one coin per household.The obverse image features Liberty standing with a shield and an olive branch before a wall marked with 13 stars. Other inscriptions include IN GOD WE TRUST AU 24 K, 1/4 OZ, 2016, “W” mint mark for West Point, and M as the initials of the last name of the designer Hermon A. MacNeil.
The reverse design features a flying eagle with 13 stars. Other inscriptions include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLVRIBVS VNVM, and QUARTER DOLLAR.
The 99.99% gold coin and features a business-strike finish and weighs 7.776 grams.
