Vijaynagar Empire king Achyutaraya issued coins featuring Gandabherunda.
This Gold half pagoda was issued by Vijayanagar Emperor Achyutaraya. The obverse features the image of Gandabherunda moving to left; profile of the bird is presented, carrying an elephant in each of its two beaks and two claws. The reverse is inscribed with the Devanagari legend Sri pra/tapa Chyuta/raya in three lines.
