Ala al-Din Masud Shah was the ruler of the Delhi Sultanate from 1242 CE to 1246 CE (AH 639-644). During his reign, he issued gold and silver coins which were minted in Lakhnauti in Bengal and Delhi, while billon coins were minted in Budaun and Delhi. He also issued bull and horseman coins.Ala Al-Din Masud Shah issued this Silver Tanka 10.8g, 'Fi Ahd' type, minted at Hadrat Dehli. The obverse is inscribed as Al-Sultan Al-Azam Ala Al-Dunya Wa'l Din Abul Muzaffar Masud Shah ibn Al-Sultan and the reverse is inscribed as ‘Fi Ahd Al-Imam Al-Muntasim Amir-Ul- Momini’.
