Ahmad Shah II ruled the Bahmani Sultanate from 1435 CE to 1457 CE. He issued coins in all three metals: gold, silver and copper. Copper coins he issued are common, and the gold and silver coins had different legends.Ala Al-Din Ahmad Shah II issued this Gold Tanka weighing 11-12g minted at Hazrat Muhammadabad.
The obverse features the legend Abul Muzaffar Ala-al Dunya Wa'l Din Ahmad Shah Bin Ahmad Shah Al-Sultan. The reverse features the legend Al-Sultan Al-Qawt Al-Islam Jami Al-Fadl Wa'l Adl Wa'l Ihsan.
