Emperor Hadrian ruled the Roman Empire from 117 CE to 138 CE. He is recognized as one of the Roman Emperors who ruled justly. He was one of the most highly cultured Roman Emperors deeply interested in Greek literature.Emperor Hadrian issued this gold aureus weighing 7.05g during his rule. The obverse features the bust of the king facing right, and the reverse bears King Hadrian standing in military attire, facing left. He raised his right hand while holding a spear in his left. An Eagle and wreath are placed on his left side.
