Sawai Ram Singh II became ruler of Jaipur at the age of 16 months after the death of his father, Jai Singh III, in 1835 CE and ruled it until 1880 CE. During his reign, he executed several changes influenced by British tastes and Western ideals. He built hospitals and schools to emphasis women's education and constructed roads to promote economic progress.Sawai Ram Singh II issued this gold mohur, 10.87g, Sawai Jaipur Mint, in the name of (INO) Mughal Emperor Bahadur Shah II.
The obverse of the coin is inscribed with the name and title of Bahadur Shah II and AH Date 125x. The reverse of the coins inscribed with the Regnal year Ahad, Jhar as a Mint mark.
