Portuguese Conquer Goa

On this day in 1510, Portuguese admiral-general and statesman Afonso de Albuquerque, who played a key role in establishing the Portuguese Empire in Asia first conquers the city of Goa, with a little conflict.

His first voyage to India in 1503 secured trade alliances and built the Fort Immanuel in Cochin and Quilon and initiated progressive measures like founding the First Portuguese mint in Goa.
