The Anglo-Bhopal treaty signed between East India Company and Nawab Nazar Muhammad (the Bhopal ruler from 1816 to 1819) made Bhopal a princely state in British India. Bhopal was merged with the union territory of India in 1949. On 1st November 1956, as the effect of the Reorganization of the states on a linguistic basis, Bhopal became part of Madhya Pradesh.Sikandar Jahan Begum of Princely State Bhopal issued this silver Nazarana Double Rupee, 21.78g, inscribed with the Kalima, La Ilaha Illa Allahu Mummad-Ur-Rasulullaha within square within the square and AH year 128x on both obverse and reverse.
