Hammira Deva Chauhan, a brave Agnivanshi Rajput, ruled Ranathambhor for 12 years. He won 13 out of 17 battles and resisted the forces of Khilji. He bravely fought against Muhammad Shah and died in Ranthambore seige.He issued a commemorative gold half-tanka,5.5g, to commemorate one of his victories. This gold half-tanka may be one of the specimens that would have survived the invasion of Allaudin Khilji on the fort of Ranthambore in 1301 AD.
The obverse of the coin is inscribed as Raja Sri Jaita See Deva Pree in Devanagari. The reverse of the coin is inscribed as Raja Sri Hamira Deva Karapitasa (Vikram Samvat 14)43 in Devanagari.
