Mirza Nuruddin Beig Mohammed Khan Salim, also known by his imperial name Salim or Jahangir.Jahangir was the fourth Mughal Emperor, ruled between 1605 CE and 1627 CE and was the greatest patron of fine arts.
The Exceedingly rare Gold Mohur of Jahangir, 10.90g, minted at Ahmadabad in the Hijri year 1029, during the 15th year of his reign, was sold for INR 28,00,000 in an auction held at Kolkatta on 23rd December 2023.
The obverse of this coin is inscribed as Ilahi ta-Jahan Jahangir Shah Akbar Shah Bashad Rawan Bad. The reverse of this coin is inscribed as Ba-Sharq Wa Gharb Sana (15) Julus Sana (1029), Ahmedabad.
