Muhammad Adil Shah, the fourth ruler of the Suri dynasty, ruled this dynasty between 1552 CE and 1556 CE.Muhammad Adil Shah ruled for a short duration; therefore, coins issued by him show fewer mints than those of his predecessors. Jhusi and Prayag (original name of Allahabad) were the new mints added during his reign.
This silver rupee issued by Muhammad Adil Shah weighing around 11.15g was minted in Jhusi. The obverse of the coin is inscribed as Sultan Muhammad Adil Khallada Allah Mulkahu zarb Jhusi, Devnagari legend 'Sri Muhammad Shah'. The reverse of the coin is inscribed as Shahada & AH date 964.
