Krishadevaya, the third monarch of the Tuluva dynasty, ruled the Vijaynagar Empire between 1509 CE and 1529 CE. He restored the lost prestige of the Vijaynagar Empire after coming to power.This copper Jital of 8.43g was issued by Krishnadevaraya during his rule. The obverse of this coin is inscribed as Garuda kneels on his knee with his right foot on the ground in virasana posture, facing left, hand joined in the attitude of devotion. The reverse of this coin inscribed with theThree-line Devanagari legend.
