Navy Day is celebrated annually on December 4th to honor the Indian Navy's contributions and accomplishments in the country.

On 4 December 1971, the Indian Navy sank four Pakistani vessels, including PNS Khaibar, during Operation Trident in Karachi.

The celebration is significant in connecting the historic ties between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and the Indian Navy, with this year's event taking place in Sindhudurg and attended by PM Modi.
