On This Day in 1832, Louisa May Alcott a novelist and short story writer was born in Philadelphia.Her coming-of-age novel, Little Women, was published in two volumes at the request of her publisher and made her famous.
After the success of the novel, Louisa May Alcott went on to write two sequels: "Little Men" and "Jo's Boys".
