Copper Quarter Anna of Princely State Dhar Minted at Calcutta

Dhar was a princely state located in present-day Madhya Pradesh, India.A Maratha general named Udaji Rao Puar (Pawar) founded Dhar in 1729 after receiving the land as a donation from the Peshwa Bajirao I under Chhatrapati Shahu.
This copper 1/4 Anna coins were minted during the reign of Anand Rao III dated 1887. Dhar state came under British protection, hence the coins were minted with the portrait and name of Victoria. The obverse displays the portrait bust of Victoria; the reverse has the value, state name, and date within a beaded circle.
