King George V, Calcutta Mint Silver Half-Rupee sold For INR 1,70,000

King George V was the second son of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra, proclaimed as the monarch of the United Kingdom and the British Dominions and Emperor of India after his father's death on May 06, 1910, and coronated at Westminster Abbey on June 22, 1911.The silver half rupee of King George V, issued in 1911, was minted in Calcutta, was sold for INR 170000, held in Mumbai on October 07, 2023.
The obverse features the Bust of King George V facing to the left with an elephant which looks like a pig on the King's robe. The reverse features the legend HALF / RUPEE / INDIA / 1911, and Hashta Ana in Persian below the year within an ornate floral border.
