Every year March 15 is marked as World Consumer Rights Day. The day spreads global awareness that consumer rights are respected and protected and protests against market abuses.
World Consumer Right Day, was first observed on 15 March 1983, inspired by the speech given by US President John F. Kennedy in 1962 to the US Congress to uphold consumer rights. He became the first world leader to talk about consumer rights.
The significance of the International Consumer Right Day is that customer should be aware that they are not susceptible to market exploitation or injustice. Every consumer should know of their rights and also know how to use it in day to day life.
