Frederic Chopin born on 1st March 1810, is a pivotal figure in the Romantic era due to his music followed by his early death and his status as one of the genre's first celebrities.

In 2001, Department of Posts issued a commemorative stamp on Fryderyk (sic) Chopin whose "poetic genius was based on a professional technique that was without equal in his generation"
