The Banco Central de Reserva del Per issued Peruvian Sol currency in 12 denominations, including these 500 Peruvian Intis notes. They are from Peru's demonetized Inti banknote series. The Banco Central de Reserva del Per issued these 500 Peruvian Sol banknotes for the first time in 1985.The issuer's bank name appears at the top, on the right. Tpac Amaru II, José Gabriel Condorcanqui (1738–1791), was the leader of an indigenous revolt against the Spaniards of colonial Peru, with the Peruvian Coat of Arms, at its center. Despite his defeat, he became a legendary figure in the struggle for Peruvian independence, indigenous peoples' rights, and several other causes.
The reverse of the Quinientos Intis bill features a view of the Andes Mountains (Huascarán mountain) with a climber in the center. Huascarán is the Western Hemisphere's and South America's fourth-highest mountain. Huascarán's southern summit, at 6,768 meters, is the highest point in Peru, the northern Andes, and the whole earth.
The banknote is inscribes in Latin on both sides.
